D&AD - Yorkshire Accent

Yorkshire Day saw Arriva reveal the top ten Yorkshire sayings as nominated by bus users across the county.

The sayings were launched at Batley Mill on Saturday, 1st August along with two of the 17 new buses being introduced into service.

We had originally appealed for suggestions to preserve the region’s heritage by displaying the top ten Yorkshire sayings on our fleet of new buses.

The activity aimed to showcase the wit and wisdom of Yorkshire by using our fleet of 17 brand new buses being intoduced into services in Dewsbury, Batley, Birstall and Bradford, an investment of over £2million.

The top ten sayings were:

Sit thissen dahn an' tell me abaht it

nowt, allus do it for thissen
